Become a Driving Instructor through Miro training Centre
Miro Training Centre are pleased to offer our Driving Instructor Course in WA (Perth) -TLI41222 - Certificate IV in Motor Vehicle Driver Training. This certificate is a nationally recognised qualification under the Australian Qualification Framework (AQF). As a prescribed body; as listed in schedule 2 of the Motor Vehicle Driver Instructor Regulations 1964 Miro Training Centre, Western Australia, is registered to certify driving instructors.
The Skills
The TLI41222 - Certificate IV in Motor Vehicle Driver Training includes the performance of a broad range of skilled applications including requirements to evaluate and analyse current practices, to develop new criteria and procedures for performing current practices, and to provide some leadership and guidance to others in applying skills and planning skill development.
The Learning Journey
This course is a competency-based course, meaning that learner progress is not time based. Therefore, you will progress in this course based on your own commitment and effort, not due to mandatory time restrictions. It is comprised of two components: Theory and Practical components, comprising of online study and 2 weeks face to face training and assignments.
The way in which we deliver this course has been designed to suit busy schedules and allows for flexibility as you work towards your career goals.
There are theoretical and practical sessions, where you will work with one of our qualified driving assessors. Our staff have over 40 years’ combined experience, some, having worked directly with the Department of Transport WA (DoT).
Amongst other learnings, you will be taught how to use the Practical Driver Assessment form (PDA) to assess to a standard, to ensure your clients are ready for their own driving assessment.
In addition to learning what is necessary to become a driving instructor, Miro Training Centre go the extra mile, and teach you the foundations of running a successful driving school business, such as, understanding how people learn, insider tips on working in the industry, insurance costs, dual control factors and work, health, and safety requirements.
Develop the techniques and lesson styles that will see you become a sought-after trainer, as well as having access to government programs such as Keys2Drive – a Federal Government Initiative.

Once the course has been completed, you will be required to attend the Department of Transport to make application for the Driver Instructor Licence, by presenting this certificate, your National Police Clearance Certificate and your Medical results.
